Spoiler Summary/Synopsis

Akane and Ranma arrive at the Kolkhoz High School for the Charlotte Cup skating challenge. In the dressing room, Mikado vows to Ranma that he will kiss Akane. When Ranma and Akane head to the ring, Ranma wants Akane to avoid Mikado. The initial part doesn’t go well as Mikado and Azusa separate Ranma and Akane. Mikado grabs Akane and goes for a kiss, so she throws him away.

When Ranma and Akane reconnect, Ranma tosses Akane to land a punch on Mikado. To that end, Mikado and Azusa do their ultimate Couple Crusher technique. Ranma and Akane survive, though Ranma takes heavy damage protecting Akane. As P-chan, Ryouga escapes and returns to human form. Since Ranma is injured, Ryouga forced him into his female form. However, instead of getting paired with Akane, Ryouga is paired with female Ranma.

Mikado is happy to see the pigtailed girl as female Ranma squabbles with Ryouga. Mikado and Azusa do the Couple Crusher again, causing Mikado to catch female Ranma. As such, Ranma kicks him away to return to the angry Ryouga, who destroys the ice. Realizing his secret is about to be reveals, Ryouga worries. However, female Ranma gets him to focus on the job at hand.

Thoughts/Review

Well, the skating arc that continued in Ranma 1/2 09 certainly continued longer than I thought it would. Regardless, the episode was pretty fun, if you can get past the utter garbage subtitles. And no, I’m not going to stop complaining about the substandard trash that reportedly, the translator/adapter is so proud of themselves for. (The smegger has no oversight and thus can do what they please.)

Rant aside, the episode is fun for what it is. We are in the early days of the romantic teases between Akane and Ranma. It is sweet now, but I remember how boring it will become in future. The only chuckle I got was when Ranma slipped a punch to Mikado. But honestly, other than the subtitles, I had fun with the episode.

As an aside, HAYASHIBARA Megumi is such a delight as female Ranma. Good grief, hearing her go nuts and such just makes me want a new Slayers anime so badly…providing it isn’t written down for kids.
